[attr="class","reasonbod"]Two moons ago.
Shadkit had evolved into Shadpaw the evening before, an event which brought with it more disappointment than it did excitement. On the plus side, he'd be able to finally dig his natural weapons into something alive. On the down side, he'd have to pretend to be an obedient clan cat in front of someone other than the nursery queens and kits. And from his limited experience in acting, it was predicted to be quite the drag. Last night's ceremony had been too much, in fact; having to parade around with a false bounce in his step, as well has having to had touch noses with Ashblaze as apart of tradition had been utterly.. revolting. Everything about his future as an apprentice, and a warrior, looked dismally boring.
Yet, here he was, waiting outside of the camp's entrance as he had been instructed, preparing to fall under the authority of a cat he could less about. Not that there was any cat he cared about, but still, it was awful for the young teen. Adhering to his mother's desires had been enough of a pain, but now this? Even if it had been his inevitable future, Shadpaw had certainly wished it'd been delayed for the stretch of all eternity.
His posture reflected his lack of enthusiasm, as did his eyes, which glanced toward the entrance of camp with frustration. When was the black tom coming? Had he forgotten?
“Tch.”
Glancing away, Shadpaw quietly sulked; his perpetually unsheathed claws casually digging into the soft soil beneath him.
