[attr="class","appCATEGORY"]PERSONALITY
[attr="class","appBAR"]
[attr="class","appFIELD"]mistfall prides himself on being as level-headed as possible when it comes to dealing with the ins and outs of everyday life. his new position requires him to be firm and resolute but deep down, he really just wants the best for all cats in his clan for he knows of the danger that lurks in the wildlands around them. he teeters along a tightrope, with one side wanting him to calm down and live rather than fight for survival, but he aligns himself with his duties - it’s what is expected of him as a deputy. he’s dedicated and diligent with his role, whether that be to lead patrols, join in on hunting parties, or simply just engaging with his fellow clanmates - mistfall is always the first to volunteer.
though, while he may not always be the most responsive cat around, mistfall likes to run amok (within reason) and throw himself into conversation. his ability to read the room is great, and helpful, but more often than not he just likes to keep the peace. now, there are some days when things get to be too much for him to handle and he’ll often slink away in search of a place where he can either relax or simply sit and think for a while in order to piece himself back together. not many things bother him so much to where he feels the need to do this all the time, especially since it directly interferes with his present commitments, but there are those days where everything just gets him so uptight and constricted and on the verge of exploding. on those days, mistfall tends to just bury himself in whatever he can to avoid this bubbling of emotions - whether it be a solo hunt or simply just observing the things happening around him.
mistfall has found it easier to figure things out through his own actions rather than to have things handed to him. he thinks rather highly of himself in that aspect. he rarely complains about things that annoy him and would never burden others with his own miscellaneous problems. in fact, he’d rather spend his time fretting over the little things rather than his personal issues. he can, and will, often poke his nose about - just to make sure things are running smoothly (more so just to make sure his sibling isn’t causing problems).
he likes to think that he is able to withstand a lot without cracking, probably due to the way he had shut himself off and put much more time in his studies and strength training than goofing off with the other warriors. mistfall always tries to find ways to do better, to be better; an extreme goody-two-shoes is an easy way to put it. after the trouble he had gotten into with his sister as a child, mistfall put in a lot of effort to change the way his clan viewed him. he can be a bit impressionable like that - but only because he wants to be sure that he’s doing the most to support his clan. he wasn’t a limping little kit anymore, and thenonexistent judgment he faced from others had made him strive to become a prominent figure within the territory (or so he thinks).
blurb
still finding his way as deputy, mistfall has already made himself fairly clear on his stance within the clan. his hand can be a bit more lenient than most, but don't expect him to veer off the line so easily - he holds his leader's standards in extremely high regard and wouldn't ever step out of his place, in or out of her presence. he doesn't take kindly to laziness or foolishness within the clan, and he definitely has the means to nip any bad behavior in the bud before it can spread. mistfall follows closely to his leaders own policies, most of her ideals and principles have blended into his own - which can sound a bit unusual but he believes that his leader's decisions are ones to be shadowed. though, he does his best to stray away from being an irresponsible yes man by traversing the middle-ground of things rather than picking sides - without directly being disrespectful, of course. and while he feels that he has found his footing, the tom still has much to learn.

🜎 26 moons: your apprentice graduates from training and is named, reassuring your abilities hadn't suffered even though you definitely had
🜎 28 moons: you are rewarded for your past and current efforts, ivystar names you deputy
you were born into the second litter of smogbelly and cloudwing, two proud warriors of your clan. they had done so well with their first round of kits that your mother, despite wanting to get back to her warrior duties, had quickly decided that it wouldn’t hurt to spit out a few more - and thus, you and your sister filled the space that once held your three older siblings. while your sister spent her kithood gallivanting with them, you attached yourself to your father - who, more or less, appreciated having another son to raise.
you were a carbon copy of your sister (or she was a copy of you more like, for you were out a few minutes before she was) and you developed as equals, up until you could leave the nest of course. your sister was always doing things she wasn’t supposed to be doing, as as the slightly older twin you took it upon yourself to orbit around her, just so that she didn’t do anything harmful to herself - or others. but she always found ways to involve you in whatever she was doing, it was the exact reason why your life was put on hold as a kit.
recounting the day was as easy as speaking, it was the main cause of your silent disdain towards your sister. for some reason, she had this foolish idea to climb one of the larger trees around the camp - despite both of your clear lack of ability due to your age and overall size. she had taunted you from way up in the branches of a great oak, and while you knew that you were far too mature to give in to her silly teasing, you ended up climbing much higher than your sister could’ve ever imagined - because you were just that much better than her. you had to do something to keep her quiet, but of course, you didn’t expect to misstep and slip off the branch. as you fell, you had quickly tried to flip your body in a sad attempt at balancing but oh, what a bad idea that was. you crash-landed onto your poor little paws, while promptly snapping the bone of your left hind leg in the process.
your apprentice ceremony was held back due to the injury, decreed by ivystar, despite your age and eagerness to begin training - and to sit and wait with you was to be your sister’s punishment for her careless actions. while you were forced into physical therapy and constant medicinal care in the den with poppyspot, the other apprentices were being mentored and were training to become warriors. though around two moons later, after your leg had healed up (albeit with a slight gimp, though it didn't hinder your overall abilities) you and your sister were finally able to become apprentices - you were assigned to honeyclaw, a headstrong and very strict teacher who pushed you past your injuries limitations. her work ethic was something to be admired, and you did; you took after her in more ways than you could count.
the moons flew by as you grew, waiting for the day in which you gained your full name, but it seemed that starclan wasn’t going to allow your family a moment to breathe. a few weeks before your ceremony, you came to learn that your brother had been killed. it was a patrol gone awry - your brother, rainleap, and another warrior unknown to you had lost their lives.
it made you dread what was to come, but instead of dwelling on it you decided that it was just best to put your head down and do what was expected of you - your naming ceremony had quickly become just another task to fulfill. you were given the name mistfall, a reminder of your negligence as a kit but also for the quick turnaround you had made during your apprenticeship. in hindsight, you were extremely proud to be named - but your unexpressed emotions and sadness over the death of your brother hung over you like a shadow. your sister was named exactly one moon after you had been, a shock to the rest of your family, but where you had been putting in the work she had been dilly-dallying.
a little while after, you were given your own apprentice to train; a little she-cat named blackpaw. she was soft-spoken and gentle in her actions, which you took into consideration while giving lessons, but you knew that she was going to be a fine warrior. just as you felt that you were getting yourself back on track, as you went on patrols and helped to feed your clan, tragedy stuck its ugly little face into your life again. this time, it took your father as well as some other cats from not only your own clan but from shadowclan as well - a border skirmish, they had called it. there was bad blood between the two, over the death of your last leader robinstar, and as a kit you never quite understood it. but as an adult, a warrior, you held the same hatred for the marshland rats that lived across the thunderpath; if not for the death of robinstar, then for the blatant murder of your beloved father.
your family fell into darkness, including your own sister who had become a shell of her former self, but you had quickly decided that the time for mourning was over. it was almost as if your family members were falling out left and right - though it had only been two losses. but your mind wouldn’t let you forget them; you felt obligated to step up and fill in the emptying spots. you distanced yourself, hid within your own mind; you had all but physically shut down - but while you suffered, your diligent attitude and love for your clan hadn’t. your work was all that mattered.
it was apparent that you had more than proven your value to the clan, despite your shortcomings - but your leader overlooked all of it. she saw you, had watched you grow and learn and teach. she had yet to take a deputy, after falling into the role after the tragic death of robinstar, and had deemed you deserving of the high-ranking title (a surprise to you, for reasons simply due to the code and for other reasons in concern of your own personal shortcomings). nonetheless, ivystar was taking a chance on you -she seemed to see something of worth in you- and by being named as her deputy under the stars, you would force yourself to exceed her expectations.
that was only a handful of moons ago, and while you still had your moments - you handled the new position well and you carried out your new duties with grace and with a steadfast mind. you could feel yourself bouncing back from your familial hardships, but you also felt the pressure of it all, especially since you also had to keep a distant but watchful eye on your troublemaking sibling who still continued to try and push your buttons into adulthood - but you knew that even with your slight self-doubt and overachieving attitude, it would be difficult for her to rise above you, as it should be.
